Returns Policy
You may return most new, unopened items within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within four weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (5 to 10 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (3 to 5 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (5 to 10 business days).
If you need to return an item, simply login to your account, view the order using the "Complete Orders" link under the My Account menu and click the Return Item(s) button. We'll notify you via e-mail of your refund once we've received and processed the returned item.
Shipping
We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations.
When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.
Please also note that the shipping rates for many items we sell are weight-based. The weight of any such item can be found on its detail page. To reflect the policies of the shipping companies we use, all weights will be rounded up to the next full pound.

How do I create and personalize a product on Map Threads?
Start by selecting a product (like apparel, wall art, or phone cases). For most items, you can choose color, size, map template (shape), location, map style, and even add custom text (where available). As you select options, the product image updates in real-time to preview your design. Always click “Preview” before adding to cart to ensure you're happy with the design.

What map locations can I choose?
You can select any location worldwide—just enter it in the “Enter a Location” bar and zoom to your preferred detail level. The map will display in the shape and style you've selected.

Can I customize map colors and styles?
Yes! Pick from a variety of map color schemes and styles to match your taste and product background. Make sure your chosen style has enough contrast for visibility. You can also preview different styles live on the product mockup.

Can I add custom text to my product?
Certain templates allow customizable text. If available, the option will appear toward the bottom of the personalization page of the product you've chosen. Enter your text, choose a font and color, and see it update in the design preview. Not all products or templates have this feature.

What is your return policy?
Because products are custom-made to your specifications, please review your preview carefully before ordering. If your item arrives damaged or there is an error with your order, contact us within 7 days of delivery with photos and a description, and we will arrange for a replacement or refund.

The preview is a helpful approximation, but due to color calibration differences and printing processes, the final product may have slight variations. Double-check all customization details before purchase.

PERSONALIZATION GUIDE
- Choose Product: Most products allow personalization! To the right of the product picture and below its name, you will see options to choose a color, size, template, location, map style, and sometimes text. Some of the personalization options outlined below only apply to certain products and map templates.
- Choose Color: Most apparel items will have a color choice. Select the color of your choice using the text-based color palette and the color will simultaneously change on the product’s image.
- Choose Size: Select a size for your product. This may be clothing sizes for apparel items, measurements for wall art, or phone model for phone cases.
- Choose Map Template (Shape): Aside from the Canvas Full Print, you can choose a template for nearly all products. A template is the shape that your map will show up in. For example, if you choose the “brush stroke” template, your map will show up in a shape that looks like a brush stroke. Test out different templates and see them simultaneously in the product image! See images below for the “brush stroke” example.
- Choose Map Location: Click on the “Enter a Location” bar to interactively select a location for your map design. This can be a location anywhere in the world and zoomed to a level of your choice! Cherished memories, special occasions, and emotions are closely tied to place. Your map selection will appear within the map template (shape) that you have selected. This is how the map will display within your template selection.
- Choose Map Color Style: This is the fun part! Bring your map template and location to life with a unique color scheme that contrasts with the backdrop of your item. Be sure to test out many styles to view their appearance in the product mockup in real time. Also, ensure that your style choice contrasts enough with your item’s color so that your graphic is visible when printed. Map styles not only vary by color, but by presence of map labels (text labels for cities, neighborhoods, parks, streets, etc.). Be sure to preview your product’s personalization to confirm the design and colors are to your liking!
- Choose Text (if available): A few product templates allow for the insertion of customizable text onto your product. These templates include the Big Heart, Bicep Muscle, and REP [Insert City Here]. Below the map style selection you will see a form-fillable area under “Choose Text” where you may type text of your choosing. Under “Choose Font” there will be available font styles that will change the text style of the word(s) you’ve typed. In addition, you have the flexibility to choose a color for your text under the “Select a Color” option. Once again, ensure you preview your design prior to purchase (see last step).
- Preview Your Design: Important! You should always click on the “Preview” button just above the “Add to Cart” button to get a more detailed visual of your product with your personalized map on it. Check to make sure that the map location, template, style, and other customized content (if applicable) appear how you envisioned. The product preview is a “best guess” or an approximation of how your personalized product will appear when you receive it, not an absolute representation.
